Terms of Use
Welcome to Douya Note (“Douya”), provided by Enhua Yan (“we”). By downloading, installing or using Douya, you agree to these terms.
1. The software
We grant you a personal, non-transferable license to install and use Douya on your own Macs. Using Douya on one Mac is free. Please don’t reverse engineer or resell Douya, or use it to infringe anyone’s rights.
2. Your content
Everything you write in Douya belongs to you. Notes are Markdown files in your own folder — please keep your own backups. You and your collaborators are jointly responsible for the content of shared notes; only invite people you trust.
3. Your Douya Cloud account
Keep your email and devices secure. Your account’s private key exists only on your devices and we can’t recover it for you: if you lose every device you’ve signed in on, without iCloud Keychain or your recovery code, your encrypted cloud content can’t be unlocked (the note files on your Mac are not affected).
4. Subscriptions and payment
- Douya Cloud offers two subscription plans — Cloud Collaboration, and Cloud Collaboration + Douya AI — billed monthly or yearly at the price shown when you order.
- Payments are handled by Paddle as our reseller, and Paddle’s buyer terms also apply.
- Subscriptions renew automatically. You can cancel any time in the app under Settings → Douya Cloud → Manage Subscription, and keep using it until the end of the current period.
- See the refund policy for refunds.
- People you invite to a cloud collaboration don’t need a subscription.
- After a subscription ends, cloud data is kept for 30 days, then deleted. Your local notes and features are not affected.
5. Douya AI
- Douya AI is metered: new accounts get a one-time trial allowance, used only for AI features you start yourself. Cloud Collaboration + Douya AI includes an allowance each calendar month; once it’s used up, Douya AI is unavailable until the next month.
- AI-generated content can be wrong. Use your own judgment and don’t treat it as professional advice (medical, legal, financial or otherwise).
- Don’t use Douya AI to produce illegal or harmful content. Requests that violate Anthropic’s usage policies may be declined.
6. Changes to the service
We work to keep Douya Cloud reliable but can’t promise it will never be interrupted. If we ever stop offering Douya Cloud, we’ll give at least 60 days’ notice and time to download your cloud data back to your Mac.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Douya is provided “as is”; we’re not liable for indirect losses from using or being unable to use Douya, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for Douya Cloud in the previous 12 months. Mandatory provisions of your local law take precedence.
8. Termination
You can stop using Douya and delete your account at any time. If you seriously breach these terms (for example by using Douya Cloud to distribute illegal content), we may suspend or terminate your account, with notice where possible.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, and any dispute will be handled by the competent court where the operator is located. This doesn’t affect your rights under the consumer protection laws where you live.
10. Changes and contact
If these terms change materially, we’ll tell you in advance. Questions: service@douyanote.cc.
